Trading. Montreal’s three most valuable pieces and the best player you get back is Jordan Kyrou is a horrible return.

Especially with money retained on all three. You could get a lot more and much better quality.

Is it?
Price 31, 10.5mil for 8 years, 8 lower body injuries and 2 concussions.
Weber 33, not made up for the new NHL, coming of a major foot surgery signed for 8 more years at 7.8mil
Pacioretty 30 UFA, one dimensional, perimeters soft forwars that doesn't handle the pressure well.
Montreal's core is shot and needs to be blown up.

Habs would not trade Weber, especially not to Philly. Somewhere west of the Mississippi would make more sense.
Lights liked this.

That limits the options greatly.

Don't think Habs need options. They're not the least bit interested in trading him. There are literally 20 players they'd be more willing to trade (Drouin and Price ... maybe Gallagher).

Ya but you don’t give up bronze for gold. And for as much as fans want to list every bad thing about a Montreal player when trading them for nothing, all three are still highly regarded in the league. Price has been one of the top 5 goalies the past 5 years, Weber is still a top pairing dman and one of the top 25 in the league, and Pacioretty is still one of the best scorers of the past 5 years. Each come with risks but their reputation in the league is already established and would be valued as such if they were ever to be traded.
