Description

This is what I would do if I were GM. NOT what I think Emperor Nero (oops I mean Ken Holland) will do. I think the only way to avoid long rebuilds is to attack the draft. This is how I would do it.

Chicago is paying 21 million to two players. They can't afford to wait 2 or 3 years for a player to develop. This trade gives them speed (AA), grit (Smith) and a good (If undersized) defensive prospect now at cheap (ELC) prices.

Additional Details:

Maybe this deal convinces Tavares to stay. Dekeyser is virtually identical to De Haan he's a little older but much bigger with a longer reach. I get the feeling Nyquist would really solidify NY top six. Finally, if Howard can stay healthy he could finally solidify the goaltender position.
