Initial Creation Date: May 19, 2018

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
MTL mostly needs right handed offense talent like Suzuki and Coyle. Some will surely be available with their 2nd round picks...Jay O'Brien, Ty Dellandrea, Dominik Bokk, Jesse Ylonen, Riley Sutter...

I think Mike Reilly needs a real chance on defense with a lot of good ice time...maybe even with Weber on 1st line. It worth a try...

Nicolas Hague is exactly what we need on 3rd defense line. (Is physical and will give that extra shot to his opponent to leave a mark and an impression for the next time, Futureconsiderations.ca 2017)...I like it loll

Not bad. Rather than waste Suzuki as a winger, use some of the copious cap space to "rent" Spezza or Thornton for a year and let Suzuki mature as a C. Or let Coyle/Danault be the revolving 2-3 liners and buy an expensive UFA winger -- Neal or Perron.

I don't see what's the benefit for Vegas. Where does Gally fit into their winning lineup? Maybe Vegas just saves their futures.

Vegas will probably loose Neal and Perron...that's mostly why

I think Suzuki will be ready for the 2nd line center role when Stastny will be rely on 3rd line at the end of his contract in 4-5 years...I place him right wing, but he will surely play one last year junior before going one more year AHL, then jump NHL...no need to put pression on him. If he's already NHL ready, we'll make place for him smile

Why do they lose Neal and Perron? Being on a winning team in the most tax advantage state in the US, other teams are going to overpay for Perron and Neal. Isn't that logic the definition of being a "Hab Homer". Vegas can't sign Neal and Perron, but someone how the Habs (according to your post) are able to sign the two top forwards in free agency Tavares and Stastnyshakes head

I didn't say they can't sign them. I know they have the cash...but do they still want them?

The problem facing Vegas is that the script has gone out the window. The plan was to have this group of "expendables" create a competitive team (competitive for the playoffs, not the win the whole thing) that would sustain interest until the young kids — the ones from all the expansion-draft trades they did — made it to the bigs. Suddenly, the owner is raking in money (reportedly about $4M per home game) and the UFAs will want to stay. All of a sudden, there's serious talk of Tavares heading there.

Now the Knights have a problem: stick to the plan and let the UFAs walk over the next 2 summers; or, keep this core and start dealing the kids (like Suzuki) for immediate help. The problem is that if Vegas signs Perron and Neal, they won't be for 2-3 years, but 5 or 6. That will make them harder to move when the next gang arrives.

Wouldn't Vegas be 100 times better off resigning Neal and keeping Suzuki and Hague than just having Galchenyk.

Sorry. I thought you saw him there next season. I figure he's another year of junior and at least half a year in the AHL.

I love how Neal plays intense hockey. But I think he's a lot fragile. Did u see what happened when he received Byfuglien elbow in the face not long ago...

I don't know about 100 times. It really depends if they think Suzuki and Hague are can't miss prospects and whether having Galchenyuk helps them solidify their top 3 lines for the next 3 years, something that the prospects won't do.

Yea, he came back and had a three point game I believe, hardly fragile.

To me, Tavares seems way more realistic than Statsny because Tavares is probably headed for free agency. With the run the Jets are on, Statsny will probably stay in Winnipeg. It's obviously a place he wants to be considering he waived his NMC to accept a trade there.

The problem for Winnipeg keeping Stastny is that he's now had time to get a sample of the mosquitos in Manitoba.
