I mean you do have a lot of 2/3C prospects...

Haha seems about right. Help is on the way with Poehling but will see, feel like it will be another rough year for us but the 2019 draft seems quite legit in terms of high profile C prospects

There's also Danault and DLR though.

Just putting this out there, we have 11 centers in the AHL. I imagine at LEAST one of them could be good enough for 2/3C along with Danault. It's all about that 1C.

I believe what Pierre McGuire says (and he's said it more than once): Philip Danault is an ideal 3C on a cup contending team. If Marc Bergevin builds this team with that mentality, we will get good rather quickly. If he tries to slide Danault into a 2C role, we will be mediocre.

I would like to see Danault be our 3C, and you can take your pick for the 4C (sign JDLR, sign Plek on the cheap, whatever). Whoever is the 4C, their 6-8 minutes of ice time per game isn't going to determine how good we are. It's the 1C/2C combination playing 30-40 minutes per night that are going to determine our success.

Lol, seems about right. But:

- Danault extension is rumoured to be close
- DLR likely extended
- UFA market (Stastny, Pleks?)
- Poehling and Evans aren't ready yet but both had a great year in the NCAA
- Draft (Kotkaniemi?)

Plenty of options, something will be done to make sure we actually have four NHL level C's at the start of next year but even with the points above realized, it's still not going to be pretty.

I'm dreading the Plek deal. I'm willing to bet we would get this years production with 15min/gp of ice time. Totally unacceptable (unless we are in tank mode from early on in the season).

With our depth on the wing, combined with the fact that wingers are slotted to be picked where the Habs are picking in this draft, I'm totally expecting the Habs to either deal the #3 pick in some fashion for a 2C, or trade down to acquire other assets and take Kotkaniemi (somewhere in the 5-10 slot)
