WPG + DET + CHI

Created by: CanesQue
Team: 2018-19 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: May 25, 2018
Published: May 25, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trouba may be too expensive for WPG to keep, so this is an option that gives them a solid defensive fall back option. Faulk played for Mo in CAR, spends some offseason time with Buff, and adds some offensive punch. Saarela is NHL ready and played with U18 with Laine. Finally, this gives WPG a cap dump for Mason. For CAR, it gives them the nasty defenseman that they need.

DET trade benefits both sides.

CHI - gives CHI another dynamic 30+ goal scorer to give them the one two punch that they had with Panarin.

I think Chicago would have to seriously consider this. It's not my favorite, but Skinner is a very underrated defender and gauthier is a nice prospect.

This is the best Armchair GM post I've seen on here in a long time, well done.

I don't know anything about Gauthier, so I will have to look him up. But as much as I love Skinner, I'd be concerned with how many concussions he's had... Without trying to make a joke of it at all, isn't he one big upper body injury away from being brain scrambled?

Also, I have to ask... Why would you want Steve Mason? He's been pretty damned bad for a long time... With Darls' struggles, is Mason the right guy to help?

Skinner has actually been healthy for years, he just finally got smart on keeping his head up. Mason was mostly a concession to get the Trouba trade over the hump. We could flip (with retention) or roll the bones on he and/or Darling to find their games.

Fair trades, smart getting svechnikovs brother but they probably wont play on same line for long because evgeny is doubtful to be a legit 2nd or 1st line winger
