And why would pit? Trading a 90 point elite player for a top 4 D and a 2nd line forward

He's fat, out of shape, a cancer in the locker room extremely difficult to coach. I'm paraphrasing here but all these things have been said about him by people more in the know than you or me. He's 30, plays wing (while the Wild give up a center in Coyle AND a defenseman) and produced many of those ninety two points playing with two of the best players to ever step on the ice (and trust me, as a Wings fan that hurts to admit). Also, his point total was 22 points more than last year and 12 better than any other season in his career leading me to believe its a statistical aberration rather than the norm. Finally his possession numbers the last two years are troubling for someone who is so protected in his zone starts (a whopping 64.8%). Oh and he makes 6.8 million dollars,,,

That narrative has been debunked many times by his teammates and former teammates. The media just loves to make him look bad for more reads on their columns. Also, coyle rarely plays centre. While this year was a career year for Kessel he is still a very capable 80 point guy as he’s scored that many times throughout his career. Pens would be foolish to trade him right now. They’ll trade him when their window is closing. Right now it is still wide open

Ehh, it's followed him around wherever he's goes. What's that saying about smoke and fire? I'm not saying he's not a great player, I'm just saying this deal makes no sense for Minnesota unless they want to make a one or two year run and then tear it all down again. I don't think it's what they need and guessing i'm Paul Fenton doesn't either. And I still thinks the trade is light on Pittsburghs end.
I agree with you about trading Kessel: I believe he has greater value to them if they keep him for another run. I don't think he was the reason they lost to the Capitals because Pittsburgh's D is atrocious. The Pittsburgh fans who turned on him this summer remind of the fans in Detroit who would call in to radio shows every year demanding the Wings trade Yzerman and Fedorov.

Fat and out of shape? And that is based on what? Oh yeah the media making him look bad. He doesn't look fat and out of shape when he blows by defenders and snipes it past the goalie

I read the entire thing. Just dont get the point of you adding the "fat" and "lazy" to kessel because it is very untrue.

No I didn't. I just don't see why you needed to say that at all. The part about being harder to coach I can somewhat see but it is still blown out of proportion, but the fat and lazy part is debunked by his production and energy. Just watch when he sits on the bench, he's always involved and looking at the tablets to improve himself.

Then I don't know what else to say because I'm not sure you really understand. Did you read the whole thread? Paraphrasing means I'm loosely quoting someone else. Is that what you don't get? Or are you feeling hurt because news reporters have called him fat and lazy and I mentioned it? I think Phil can handle himself and doesn't need you to feel sorry for him.

Lmao no. You're the one who isn't understanding. Take the medias side of phil kessel I guess. Doesn't make much sense especially coming off a 90+ point season. Dont understand why he's considered fat and lazy when he just had his best season ever. And just because I'm defending kessel doesn't mean I feel hurt

Wow. I'll try one final time: I was not calling him fat I was quoting someone else. I cannot make it any clearer than that. And from my point of view you seem really sensitive about this issue. I was simply explaining my position on a trade. I have no personal investment in the matter I don't know Mr. Kessel nor did I claim to have any inside knowledge of his physical fitness. Do you?

Wow. Ill try one final time: I know you didn't call him fat and lazy, the media does. My question to you is why is that part of your reasoning against the trade, even though he isn't fat and lazy. And why is all of your responses only dealing with "fat"? You never include the lazy part for some reason. He is not fat or lazy. Dont let the media fool you because they say stuff to stir the pot all the time
