Praying the young players all improve

Description
I wasn't going to sign Tavares cause theres no way that happens, but I couldn't help myself lol. Either way the Hawks are going to need to depend on their young players a lot this year and pray Crawfords healthy.

It's a stretch to think Jokiharju can be on the top pair, but unless they bring in a new Dman that spot could be a revolving door.

Not sure if Hayden can stick at center but I'd like to see him get a chance to anchor the 4th line.

Another line combination I'd like to see is an all American line. Sadd-Schmaltz-Kane.

Scott Powers from the Athletic floated the idea of playing Ejdsell with Schmaltz and Kane. Thoughts?

Really for a 5th round pick, through in Kane and Toews and you might have a deal

Says the not-really-guy who signed Nacho Grande to 6.875... Yeah. you do, because AZ is no longer a dumping ground, and no one is going to take **** contracts for nothing.

Assuming Toews has a rebound year and isn't really in full decline, which I don't think he is, 32 mil for those 3 stud horses would be fine by me!

@Sharp_10 The Hawks don't need or want Shawzie back... I loved him, but those days are over, and with his back problems at 4 mil, no dice. Would prefer to keep Big Artie for nearly the same price. I also thnik you overpaid Vinnie and Hayden by a little... Vinnie is thrilled with 1.25x2, and Hayden would likely take the same. Not vast savings here, but every penny counts to ol' SMH Stanbo up there... Duclair is tougher to figure out, he may land at 1.75-8, not sure how that will go. They all need "prove it" contracts, so we'll have to wait and see.

In the end, this D group is not good enough. I would follow other Armchair GMs who are at least going after Faulk or De Haan, SOMEONE else is needed at D or this team is still in a bag of defensive ****.

We don’t need to dump Hossa’s contract at all. If Arizona or some other low budget team wants a big cap hit with a low money owed then so be it. Otherwise, let him stay and retire a hawk.

Except the real Stanbo apparently doesn't want to live on LTIR adjustments anymore... So do they need to, no, but does he want to? Looks like it...

What leads you to belive this, other than Hossa’s announcement, radio silence from the Blackhawks reguarding the offseason.

Officially, yeah they've been pretty quiet except to hint that they'll be pretty active. But the nearly all of the quote-un-quote experts who have "sources" have said that Stanbo would prefer to move that contract out and allow for cap space accrual during the season.

Now obviously you have to be selective with what you believe from who, but I find this one to be believable. Could be wrong, I'm sure Stan can assemble a solid team regardless of what he ends up doing with 81's contract...

Whatever your sources are, I assure you...we won’t have to move many peices if we decide to trade his contract.

Yes they will. And dropping his contract creates flexibility. No trying to get as close to the cap at the start of the season and then calling up six guys to fill out the roster. And it'll likely cost way more. I was being conservative. The only real lose is Hillman, and it's still to early to even call him a lose

I guess some people don't realize it's taken quality assets to trade retired contracts lol

I assure you I have literally ZERO sources, I just choose to believe a few others who do when they put select info out there, and have a decent track record of being right (John Jaeckel).
