Bennett doesn’t play center well, I would want to start him at wing to see if it helps him. The plan for Mittelstadt here is to let him adapt to the game at 3C, it gives the Sabres 3 dangerous lines and doesn’t put to much pressure on the kid

not sure why the sens would do this. There are a lot of good arguments for trading one of or both Ceci and Pageau, but doing it to get Okposo makes no sense for Ottawa. Okposo is a good player who signed for great money, and for a rebuilding team with a legendarily cheap owner, it just doesn't work. the sens need to stock the cupboards with picks and prospects

Okposo’s actual salary is very cheap over the rest of his contract, gives Melnyk economic relief to make other moves and retain his stars, while giving them a 50-60pt winger

stop trading guhle

also, okposo has low salary, but he has 11 million in signing bonuses due still, which hurts any buyouts https://www.capfriendly.com/players/kyle-okposo

Improve our D? Brodie is better than Bogosian by a fair margin - that's a cap dump if there ever was one wink (plus the 3 full seasons he's played with Buffalo he's missed 108 games) That's an easy pass from the Flames. We are looking for a top RW, and draft picks though (since Tre seems to give our picks away)

it's true that his salary is only 4 million in the last two years of the contract, but the contract also sees Melnyk paying 11 million dollars in signing bonuses over the next four seasons, And Melnyk hates signing big Cheques on July 1st. That's why the sens were so aggressive in moving out all of their contracts with Signing Bonuses. Both Phaneuf and Brassard had were owed several million in SBs over the term of their contracts and the sens were very aggressive in trying to get a deal done, bringing in picks and prospects, as well as taking on a Big Contract in Gaborik who is owed 0 dollars in Signing bonuses.
