Team: 2018-19 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: May 31, 2018
Published: May 31, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Dallas unloads Spezza and also gets Murray who could be a very good left side dman with Klingsberg.

Jackets save money in getting rid of Dubi contract to help with signing our three players. We also get Honka who could use a change of scenery and play on the right side to Kukan.

is Milano on the 2nd line is realistic? or its based off hopes for next year?

i had milano in a pool, i traded him recently. how is he seen in Columbus?

for the Spezza trade, not sure Dallas would do that. Spezza is at his final year of his contract, while Dubinsky has 3 more seasons at an insane price. Honka doesnt worth the cap jam that Dubs brings.

Dallas is very weak on the left side defensively. Murray, when healthy, is capable of playing big minutes. He would be a perfect pairing to Klingberg. Dubi would have a mil retained on his contract making the contract more respectable should he bounce back. Dubi is a proud guy and will likely bounce back. The Jackets are working on a new wave of players and need to retain certain key players. Dubi’s contract makes it difficult. This trade works well for both teams.

Dallas have 17M free right now, with 2 RD to sign, a backup G and some fowards to add in the mix.
on the left side of their D, they are doing pretty fine with Methot, Lindell and Heinskanen coming up next season.

Dubinsky comes with a bit less than a 18M contract, while Spezza is ufa at the end of the year.
I dont doubt Dubinsky is a proud player, but he's not getting faster, nor younger. theres a reason why you want to send him in dallas in return of Spezza.
Murray only played one full season, and it was in 15-16.
If im the Dallas Stars, i say thanks but no thanks. it would be less costly for them to just buy out Spezza.
They are probably in the Tavares derby too. with Dubinsky in there, its just too costly for them.

and about milano, how do you see him evolve? I didnt see him play much, but he looks like a fish in the water on the PP, moving well, good hands and all. before getting injured, he was producing allright for his first year in the show.
whats your thoughts about him?

As far as Milano, he has the tools. He just needs consistent playing time with other high skilled players. Milano will not make his own shot but can definitely finish. I sometimes question if he should play the offwing as a RW and play with Dubois and Panarin. Panarin might be able to get him more time and space to become more of a force in the lineup.
