I have a very hard time seeing NYI trading barzal, who put up 85 points as a 19 year old

I would end my fandom of the Leafs if that's what they got back for Nylander.

Just don't think the Isles could do it, though your offer isn't terrible

Spare parts for Nylander? How about Brown and Carrick for Tarasenko?

Not to diminish Tarasenko because that kid is amazing...but Isles can't possibly lose JT and Barzal in the same summer.

Leafs would also have zero interest in any of those players.

I think Lamoriello will pay to keep Tavares an Islander. The Islanders will have room under the new cap. I also believe that putting him on the same line with Tarasenko makes a lot of sense.

I understand Barzal's upside. Would you have throw prospects and/or draft picks into the deal to get him?

Goulet,

You're absolutely correct, but how are the Leafs going to keep all of this young talent with a salary cap? Are the going to let JVR walk? I'm not trying to be ridiculous, but the Leafs desperately need defense.

What would it take to get Nylander? Parayko? Pietrangelo has a NTC.

JVR is as good as gone. They have room to sign their key players and yes, they absolutely need a defensive upgrade. Either player you suggested would make sense with Parayko being of a similar age and possibly a better fit.

The reality is though that it doesn't make sense to move Nylander or Marner for anything less than a player of Parayko's ilk.

I don't think Barzal has much upside. His rookie season set the bar pretty high and now maintaining that level of production may be tough.

Okay, as I see this. Tarasenko is in the prime of his career. Blues won’t ever get rid of him. 2 Nylander isn’t leaving Tor. Even as a Blues fan I know that is a fantasy. 3 If I am getting rid of Parayko you have to give up a 1st and a top 2 D.

Only reason I say that is because Parayko is going to be one of the better Defenseman in the league.
