The Toronto trade is beyond absurd. I wouldn't trade any one of those assets for Chirs Tanev and a third, let alone all three (ok, maybe Kapanen, but probably not).

I agree. Gardiner having a terrible game 7 does not warrant him being traded. He had 52 points last season and is younger than Tanev. I also really don't think Tanev is worth a first round pick anymore (maybe 2 seconds and a third).

Do the NJD want to give up a good young defenceman for another young (but had a worse year) defenceman plus a forward whose numbers were quite down? They need help up front but maybe Baertschi is a better candidate than Granlund?

Every trade there is fine except that colorado trade. That trade is absolutely disturbing. Stecher is the best defender here, lind shouldve went in the 1st round but fell to us in the second. Dipietro was goalie of the year ajd wouldve been the top goalie in his draft if he was taller.

Why would New Jersey even consider that deal? Vatanen is better than Hutton even if he bounces back. Granlund does not make up for that risk or the discrepancy between the two.

Fine? In an alternate universe perhaps, where all the other GMs have been replaced by pod-borne replicas who collectively have no more actual front office experience than you or I.
