Okay doesn’t mean it’s not a fair trade
This is a lateral trade for the Coyotes, AT BEST.
a) Chychrun is what you'd hope the 5OA turns into in terms of D prospects. Chychrun is a potential top pairing defenseman who
b) The Coyotes currently have a glut of left handed forwards so trading Domi only to add two more left handed forwards makes no sense. Also, neither of those guys can play center.
c) The Coyotes have an internal budget so young, cheap talent, like Domi and Chychrun, are what the organization needs, not guys in the mid to late 20's who will probably just bolt after their contracts are up.
I hate to break it to you but you're not getting an establish, young, middle-6 winger and a potential top pairing defenseman who's only 20 for a player with some health concerns (and is a guy the Rangers should be looking to build around potentially because he'll only be 27 when the season starts) and a guy on the wrong side of 30, meanwhile, neither guy fills a need for the Coyotes. The Rangers are might not contend for a couple years, and neither of these guys are valuable enough to return potential franchise cornerstones or even established young talent unless someone drastically overpays or you take back bad contracts. You'd be better off trading them for prospects who might help you out or first rounders that you could package to potentially move up in the draft and grab a franchise altering player (hello Jack Hughes and Alex Newhook). The trade makes no sense for the Coyotes.
