Draisaitl is a very solid player, but Tarasenko is a great goal scorer and one of the best forwards in the league.

And Draisaitl had 25 plus 45 assist. Center is a more important position. Good hockey deal.

How many 30 goal years have Draisaitl have? Just because Draisaitl is 4 years younger doesnt mean that he can reach Tarasenkos potential

Tarasenko is 26, so he's still very young and hasn't reached his prime. So age really isn't a major factor. Tarasenko's cap is also a little less that Draisaitl's. Also, Tarasenko has had 4 straight 30+ goal seasons and 1 40 goal season (39 goals in 2016). Leon has yet to score 30 goals in any of his seasons. Teams usually do not trade a top 5 sniper in a league for a great #2 center

Draisaitl has 207 points in 269 games. He's only 22 and is a number one center on lots of teams. I think it's a good trade and center is a more important position. I can find lots of wingers that can score 33 goals. How many center's can you find that are 22 and put up 20-25 goals and 45 assist a year?

LOL. Vlad is 26, Leon is 22. Vlad is a winger, Leon is a center. Leon was the MVP of the playoffs for the first 2 round Edmonton actually made it that year. He was 2nd in pts while McDavid wasn't even top 10. This would be a ******** trade, for both sides.

I'm not sure why ppl here are so negative about this trade, it's decent value-wise even if I wouldn't do it personally. It's your RFA signings that get me: Cagguila isn't worth a penny more than $1M, and Benning should get something like $1.8M. Strome is high too but not far off - s/b in the $2.5-3M range. Pakarinen and Slepyshev are going to KHL next season.

GMhockey99. I disagree with lot of your posts, but this trade has lots of logic. Blues need a centre. Oilers need a sniper. RHN can move back to centre for Oilers. With the trade forget Kassian. Oilers retain 500,000 then the cap is equal.
