The Carlson sign and trade makes no sense - why wouldn't he just sign with Edmonton if that's where he'd want to go? No reason to help out another team and weaken your destination's team when you can just sign with them. Vegas would definitely match Miller's offer sheet as well. Just noticed you picked Svechnikov over Dahlin too. You must be trolling, if so, great job.

No trolling, Marincin was signed to play 2nd pair defence and Franson was signed as UFA. Sabres just don't need help on defence so why not bypass Dahlin?.....................sarcasm

The Carlson sign and trade could potentially work, since the Sabres can outbid the Oil if the Oil can't free up cap space. This requires a large amount of incompetence on Chiarelli's part, but that isn't isn't exactly rare.
Palhal is correct that THIS version of the Sabres didn't need Dahlin in the D-core. With Klefbom, Marincin, Miller, and Franson, the team has a pretty solid D-core. The top pairing's a gamble, but Dahlin immediately becoming a 1RD is too. At least Miller has shown dominance at an NHL level (top 30 in GAR among dmen last year). Ultimately, I knew of more ways to get value on D than in the wings, so I drafted a winger over a Dman. The point of this roster is to show a scenario in which the Sabres could make the playoffs in one year. I feel like I have accomplished that goal.
