I dont think you get Kessel without taking Hunwick... for pens cap reasons

No one is going to straight up trade for hunwick. The Penguins were desperate for defense last year and he was riding pine. All you need to know.
Jamie O is left handed he can't play R defense. If the Penguins get help on the blue line it's a R handed defenseman.
And the Pens aren't trading Kessel. you don't trade players who score top 10 in league who come with a cap hit of 6.8 mil when you are trying to win cups.

Kessel's NTC makes him difficult to trade if he wants to go, and practically impossible if he doesn't. There is no realistic way to expect even fair value when trading Kessel, let alone a win. He's the 3rd best player on the team and still consistently elite for his position, so unless you're getting at least equal returns trading Phil effectively closes the window on the Crosby/Malkin era. If some perfect storm comes along and whichever of the 8 teams Kessel allows himself to go to has a GM on acid, maybe the team can improve by trading a 92 point player. Don't hold your breath.

Left handed people can play on the right side. Hence why not all RW are righty and not all left wings are lefty. Same applies on defense.
Examples. Alec Martinez in LA lefty plays rightside, Sami Vatanen Righty plays left side. Trevor Daley lefty also plays right side.
Oleksiak played the right side in Dallas and that versatility is one of the reasons the Pens traded for him. Most defenseman don't like playing on their off side but some prefer it.

I don't think the trade is bad at all and would be a decent haul for the pens but I don't think LA would have to give up two draft picks if they are taking hunwick. A top 4 d and a young top 6 wing for kessel and hunwick isn't bad by itself. If you want the draft picks Tanner Pearson probably instead of Toffoli
