LA's not trading a top 20 pick in this year's draft, their most promising prospect in Villardi and Clague, another nice piece for Pacioretty, who's been struggling for some time now. I think if you offered Pacioretty for Villardi straight up or Pacioretty for Clague and the 1st, it'd be more possible.

As a King fan I would say this trade isn’t realistic. I understand Montreal needs a Center and the Kings and Pacioretty would be a perfect fit but this isn’t the Lombardi era where they mortgage the future to win now at every chance they get. Maybe one prospect a roster player and a 1st rounder and even then Vilardi is going to be our next Kopitar and I don’t think they’d trade him under any circumstance

We just need to take look at the trades return of Duchene and Nash...Pacioretty is better than them. He is a 35+ goals scorer, with Kopitar he will put 50 easily...and I don't think it will be difficult to resign him or maybe it can be done before (sign & trade). Vilardi is a good prospect but still doesn't have a 35+ NHL goal scorer value.
Maybe I can just offer him to Anaheim or Edmonton...LA will call back soon...

Kings are selling their future for a rental?

JT isn't going to MTL.

Kings are very interested in Pacioretty...this is what it cost for a 35+ NHL goals scorer. Kessel will cost them more...

Probably why they will go after Skinner instead which would ideally be cheaper than either of them

I'm not saying they're not interested. I'm just saying he's a rental. Also, if he does as well as we can expect with either Kopitar or Carter, I'm pretty sure they won't be able to resign him.
