Description
Signings: Oduya, Versteeg and Pirri signed purely for the AHL, would also be good replacements for injuries. Not sure if I hit the numbers for JVR but a good signing, as is Hickey. The trade with Montreal is for cap space and also to gain picks a bit later than first round. Not sure if Seabrook would waive his NTC to go anywhere but figure if he would if would be to Van. The Bolland Hossa trade is actually a favor for Ari, hence they putting in the 3rd rounder. Hawks stay the same cap with Bolland on IR and Ari gets the help for the floor for 3 years instead of 1.
HJ not signed as of yet by the real club, I also held out as there was not much point bringing him across. just let him continue his development another year, then bring him over. Other players in the system are NCAA so they can finish out there without cost.

Not retaining on ROR, especially not that much. Also not giving up two seconds, of which include 32oa this year in which the sabres could steal a player. No interest in overrated Crawford, especially when he only has two years left on his contract.

I think the MTL trade is reasonable and would go through. However, I doubt BUF would retain the salary you suggested PLUS 2 2nd round picks for Crawford - especially with his injury concerns. IMO, you'd have to give up Crawford+2nd for ROR without retention

The MTL trade is really interesting. Im sure montreal would love another first round pick but because our 2nd round picks and that first round pick aren't so far apart, I don't see them doing this trade, and I don't think they are interested in 30 YO anisimov carrying 4.5 for the next 2 years

Definite NO from MTL pov. Lehkonen=Anisimov. 35th and 38 th picks are an overpay for 27th. At that level all those picks have the approximate same value.

Ya I was thinking the same with ROR trade, really was unsure of it to be honest as I said, was just wanting some other peoples opinions to see.
As for the MTL trade, the 2 second round picks is pretty standard for a late first, though I can see your point with Lekonen so will make some adjustments.

Michael Schuckers has done a pick for pick value chart. Pick 27 holds a value of 162, pick 35 holds a value of 152, and pick 38 holds a value of 150... Even if you use Pick 38 and Pick 56 (112) or Pick 62 (104) the values are way off. So no, two 2nd round picks are not standard for jumping up 7 draft spots. In this range it is very likely that your player falls to you, or you are equally happy with the next guy on your list as this area of the draft is a crap shoot for consensus rankings. Bad trade from Montreal's perspective all round.

Robb that is very handy information, though I was editing the trade and removed the player involved.
