Quick But Responsible Revamp of D

Created by: wdhowell
Team: 2019-20 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2018
Published: Jun. 7, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There's no magic wand, but maybe there is an eraser for a white board with only a little permanent marker on it.

Kronwall would've been bought out the year before to make room for Green. Ouellet was buried/traded. Jensen was traded. Cholo would come up next season when Green and Daley leave.

As far as Z goes, there's talk that his back would be bad enough for LTIR.

Wings will NOT do ANY BUYOUTS..still paying pretty heavy for weiss...kronwall will retire so aside from no buyouts.. His contract is done anyway...big E not bought out..to repeat..Howard nor green will get that much $ in 2020 ugh..they'll be on incentive deals likely ..low base salary.. IF wings even resigned them..which itself is unlikely in 2020....sorry ..but cheers

I appreciate your feedback Mike; however, let me explain. The buyouts are answering a question of how to best fix the logjam in a responsible manner. Detroit will never do this. I understand. I wasn't going with a what will they do mentality though. That's my fault for not making that very clear. Howard would possibly still be number one and would still get low-end number one goalie money. Maybe I'm wrong on that though. As far as Green goes, what I've read from at least one beat writer was that $4-4.5 over two is what KH is looking to offer at most to Green. So, I didn't just throw out a random number. It's backed up. Signing Howard and Green in general has been in every beat writers' article since the season ended, so I have reason to believe they would. I get your view on this, but I wanted to explain that this was better thought out than it may seem.
