I will look into it more later. First gonna take time to think about it, look at rosters and FAs, and see what others say. I'll make my predictions later. You can post who think here. I'll be back later with my early predictions for next season.

Okay, here are mine.

First, i'll say that these point totals may not all be possible together, but i'm not gonna do all that crazy math lol.

Predictions (Regular Season):

Atlantic Division:
1 - Tampa Bay Lightning (117 points)
2 - Boston Bruins (113 points)
3 - Toronto Maple Leafs (109 points)
4 - Florida Panthers (94 points)
5 - Buffalo Sabres (81 points)
6 - Ottawa Senators (78 points)
7 - Montreal Canadiens (70 points)
8 - Detroit Red Wings (52 points)

Metropolitan Division:
1 - Washington Capitals (110 points)
2 - Columbus Blue Jackets (106 points)
3 - Pittsburgh Penguins (106 points)
4 - Philadelphia Flyers (93 points)
5 - New Jersey Devils (87 points)
6 - New York Islanders (84 points)
7 - Carolina Hurricanes (84 points)
8 - New York Rangers (76 points)

Central Division:
1 - Nashville Predators (112 points)
2 - Winnipeg Jets (110 points)
3 - Dallas Stars (95 points)
4 - Colorado Avalanche (94 points)
5 - Minnesota Wild (89 points)
6 - St. Louis Blues (83 points)
7 - Chicago Blackhawks (59 points)

Pacific Division:
1 - Anaheim Ducks (105 points)
2 - Edmonton Oilers (101 points)
3 - Vegas Golden Knights (98 points)
4 - Arizona Coyotes (91 points)
5 - San Jose Sharks (88 points)
6 - Calgary Flames (88 points)
7 - Los Angeles Kings (83 points)
8 - Vancouver Canucks (67 points)

Everyone (or at least almost everyone) who picks who makes the playoffs will have a crazy one in there. For me, i have Tampa Bay, Boston, Toronto, Florida, Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Philly, Nashville, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Anaheim, Dallas, Colorado, and Vegas. All those seem like normal picks. That's 15 teams. The other one is my crazy one, the Arizona Coyotes. I've said it the last few years, i'm gonna say it again. I have to be right one of these times.

Predictions (Playoffs):

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Philadelphia Flyers
Tampa Bay in 6

Boston Bruins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto in 7

Washington Capitals vs. Florida Panthers
Washington in 5

Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh in 6

Nashville Predators vs. Arizona Coyotes
Nashville in 5

Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars
Winnipeg in 4

Anaheim Ducks vs. Colorado Avalanche
Anaheim in 6

Edmonton Oilers vs. Vegas Golden Knights
Edmonton in 6

1st round recap: No huge surprises in round 1. The Leafs finally beat Boston, and after Vegas loses in the final, the Oilers somehow are just too much for the Golden Knights, and they don't make it far again next year, while the Oilers win a series. Arizona surprises everyone by making the playoffs, and are able to win a game, but can't beat Nashville in the series. The Jackets once again lose in the 1st round. Winnipeg sweeps Dallas, i think this one will end sooner than expected. We see those series every year. Anaheim has too much depth and too good of a defence and goalie for the Avalanche to beat them. The Bolts move on to round 2 again. Unlike Vegas, Washington makes it to round 2 after winning the cup this year.

Round 2:

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Toronto Maple Leafs
Tampa Bay in 7

Washington Capitals vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Washington in 5

Nashville Predators vs. Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg in 7

Anaheim Ducks vs. Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton in 7

2nd round recap: Caps Penguins series ends earlier than expected. Kinda like it did this year, and kinda like a few series have this year. Tampa and Toronto should be a great series if it happens, but the Bolts i think will be too much for the Leafs and will get it done in 7. The Ducks will be good but will not get past the Oilers, and the Oilers surprisingly make it to the final. Jets Preds was the hardest one for me to pick the winner of, but i think the Jets will get past the Preds for the 2nd straight year. They just have too good of a team.

Round 3:

Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Washington Capitals
Washington in 7

Winnipeg Jets vs. Edmonton Oilers
Winnipeg in 6

3rd round recap: The Caps and the Lightning was a really tricky one to pick. But in the end, after watching what they did this year, i just feel like the Capitals are gonna be able to get past the Lightning again, in 7 games. The western series should be a good one, but in the end i think the Jets will get it done in Edmonton in game 6. Such a good team.

Stanley Cup Final Preview: First, i'll mention that even though i have them tied in points, Winnipeg has one of the tiebreakers giving them home ice advantage coming into the series. Either we will see a Canadian team win the cup, or a team win the cup for the 2nd straight season. If Washington wins, then Ovechkin would have to go right up there with Crosby. He already is pretty close, but i wouldn't put him QUITE in the Crosby category yet, and Sid is still the best player in the league right now.

Game 1 - The Jets take game 1 of the final by a score of 3-2.
Game 2 - The Caps try their best and come so close, but Winnipeg goes up 2-0 in the series with a 4-2 win (empty netter at the end in the final seconds).
Game 3 - The Caps don't let it end yet, winning the game 4-1 (with an empty netter).
Game 4 - The game goes to overtime, tied at 3, but the Caps score first tying the series at 2.
Game 5 - The Jets have gone back home, and are down by a goal (2-1 the score at the time) coming into the 3rd, but tie the game at 2, and win 3-2 in overtime.
Game 6 - The game switches up a bit when it comes to who has the lead. In the end, the Caps are not able to tie the game late when down 5-4, and the Jets win their first ever Stanley cup.

Stanley Cup Final Recap: Good series, but i think Canada will finally win the cup. Not just predicting the Jets to win cause they're Canadian. They're the reason i think the cup is returning to Canada. Laine, Scheifele, Wheeler Connor, Ehlers, Little/Stastny if he signs ... that's a scary good top 6. And then they have a good defence, and a great goaltender. I think the Winnipeg Jets will win the 2019 Stanley cup.
Feel free to comment on my predictions or make your own predictions if you want.

Interesting how the first 2 people to make full predictions disagree on the Sharks so much lol. You have them winning the cup, i don't even have them making the playoffs.
Mostly pretty realistic IMO but i don't see Chicago making the playoffs.
I'd put Anaheim in the playoffs but you never know what's gonna happen.

Also curious about something: Do you have Washington losing in round 1 because you just think the Jackets will be too good to beat, or are you saying they're still gonna lose in the playoffs.

Blackhawks will have a 100+ point season, Wahlstrom makes the Hawks out of camp and puts up 70 points in route to ROY and Hawks haters heads explode...

Saad-Toews-DeBrincat

I could draw random numbers out of a hat and my prediction would be middle of the pack by the end of the season. the offseason hasn't even started and you want to make predictions on the END of next season? how about a month in advance? my initial statement will hold true even at the start of the refular season. I'll prove it when I came up with a method that let's me link points to random numbers out of a hat.

another one for the "posts that will age like milk"-collection. if you feel down, go back to last years predictions and look how big team fans predicted how great their team is going to be. [looking at you, Montreal]. also, Wahlström is commited to Harvard I believe. 98% chance he won't be in the NHL next year.

Yeah, and Ovechkin is gonna get past the second ro... *causes diversion while regathering thoughts now that that joke can’t be used anymore*

This’ll happen at the same time an expansion team makes the Stanley Cup Fina... *curses under breath while actually coming up with something that can be applied*

But in all seriousness, you realize how insane that is. A rookie drafted 8th overall is going to step right into the NHL and be almost a point per game player. I didn’t take anything you said seriously before, but this is just the icing on the cake

1. We don't even know if Chicago will draft Wahlstrom.
2. Wahlstrom has committed to Boston College for next season.
3. It's very unlikely he'll even make the NHL right away, let alone score 70 points in his first season.
4. The only way he'll make the NHL is if he blows everyone away at training camp.
5. He can't attend an NHL training camp and retain his NCAA eligibility.

Alright well at first glance here is what I have. I'm sure my opinion will change 100 times between now and then but this is my initial guess:

Atlantic
1. Tampa Bay
2. Boston
3. Toronto
4. Florida
5. Ottawa
6. Buffalo
7. Montreal
8. Detroit

Metro
1. Washington
2. Columbus
3. Pittsburgh
4. New Jersey
5. Philadelphia
6. Carolina
7. New York Islanders
8. New York Rangers

Central
1. Winnipeg
2. Nashville
3. Colorado
4. St. Louis
5. Dallas
6. Minnesota
7. Chicago

Pacific
1. San Jose
2. Vegas
3. Anaheim
4. Edmonton
5. Los Angeles
6. Calgary

8. Vancouver

Round 1

Columbus v. Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh in 7)*
Winnipeg v. Edmonton (Winnipeg in 6)
Nashville v. Colorado (Nashville in 4)
San Jose v. Blues (San Jose in 5)
Vegas v. Anaheim (Vegas in 7)

*While Columbus still is withheld a playoff series victory, they do get to a game 7 for the first time

Round 2

You think if he has a good rookie camp and the Hawks guarantee him a spot that he will go NCAA over the NHL? The kid has already said he "thinks" hes NHL ready...

And Wahlstrom could very well fall to the Hawks, so it's not a ridiculous idea.... In most "normal/average" drafts Wahlstrom would be a top 3 pick - it's not far fetched to believe a top 3 pick could make the NHL right away...

Either way, the Hawks will be a much improved team in the fall.... Bowman has cap flexibility and a couple of trade chips... It will be a good off-season for the Hawks, weather the take Wahlstrom or not (but I think the Hawks take him if he falls to #8)....

But hey what do I know, I've only been following the team and hockey in general for 35 years - it would be foolish for me to go out on a limb and make predictions, which is exactly what this damn thread asked for....
