What is going on with that WSH trade?

And who set these lines? Not great.

Aho / O'Reilly / Teravainen
Zadina / Staal / Toffoli

Would be a better starting point. No way CAR brings in O'Reilly and doesn't pair him with Aho to maximize top line production.

Anyways, too much happening here, and the valuations are pretty cosmic, so it's not worth spending too much time on the lines yet.

Aho is a center though... are you a canes fan?

Aho is going to provide more production on the wing. Especially if a guy like O'Reilly is brought in. The objective is to get the most out of the player(s) to win games. If you're familiar with the role, you'll know that playing center requires a significant focus on defensive play and faceoffs, as well as tough matchups. Some guys can thrive offensively while still doing the job defensively, but from what I've seen of Aho -- and if CAR wants him to start popping 35-40+ goals in the net each year -- he's best used on the wing with a really strong center who drives play towards the offensive zone (read: O'Reilly is pretty good at that).

The lines you've suggested are a sub-optimal use of both Aho and O'Reilly.
