well, that's a thing that happened.

Nolan Vesey was never going to crack that Marlies depth, though, so good for him, at least; he'll probably have a better shot at regular playing time in Bakersfield.

The first trade of the offseason is a huge blockbuster deal. Wow.

All joking aside, idk much about Vesey. Probably a good deal. Maybe gets more of a chance in Edmonton than he would have in Toronto. Good for both teams, and the player. Win-win-win for all three sides.

Wow, I remember when Vesey came out of college and just about every team was fighting for him...... I know he was never supposed to be a superstar, but this kinda reminds me of the downfall of Yakupov...

I, uh... just wanna make sure you didn't get Jimmy and Nolan confused. Jimmy is still with the Rangers; his brother Nolan was drafted by the Leafs and just had his rights traded.

I would think this is sarcasm, but it’s coming from the same guy who thinks the Hawks are legit Cup contenders for next year, so it raises some question marks

Hard to believe maybe Chiarelli still lost a deal when he just gave up a seventh rounder. Good luck to Nolan Vesey in pro career though, hope you prove the Oilers right.

So Peter gave up an asset for a guy who is projected to be a middle-6 AHL player at best.

Those guys of course can't be found in free agency. Good job Peter.

I don't care, that's still extremely poor asset management. There's dozens of these guys available in FA.

Buffalo Might as well trade the 1st Overall Pick because they can just sign Carlsson in FA

And? I can show you 1000's of busts in the first round. Does that mean you should trade it every year? hell no. Learn some common sense fella

The point is, you should never give up picks for guys like this. There's hundreds of them available all the time in FA. Giving up assets for no help on the top level is absolutely unnecessary.

It is sarcasm, an the Hawks will be contenders next season ..........Do you really think the Hawks are going to ice the same roster they did this past season? lol

Hawks only iced that roster because they had no choice because they had no cap space........ That will kinda make a team suck you know? but that nonsense is over and the Hawks will ice a team that can contend in 2018-19...

I was screwing around man.....

Oh but I forgot, I think the Hawks will contend next season so I must not know anything about hockey..... 35 years and I learned nothing.

Wasn't his rights with Leafs set to expire in August anyways? Why give up anything for him when they could get him as an FA in a couple months.
