I like the moves but I don't think that Calgary would want to move Brodie. Also I think that Pavelec is worth more than a 6th rounder.

I agree that Calgary wouldn't want to part with Brodie but Jets need to do what it takes to get a strong LHD. I hoped that the three players sent back would pacify Flames fans. As for Pavs, Jets just need his contract off the books. Hellebuyck and Comrie both are being groomed for the future. Anderson is a significant upgrade off of Pavelec and Anaheim can't protect him from the expansion draft.

The Ducks are likely be position to make a Cup run next year. Don't know if would be wise to leave your goaltending to Gibson and Comrie. So what happens to Winnipeg, would Hellebuyck be exposed to the selection draft (if there is one)?

My understanding is that first and second year pros would be excluded from the draft which would leave, Hellebuyck, Ehlers, Petan, Morrissey, Comrie, Copp and DeLeo protected.

The draft would not be till June 2017. Hellebuyck will have completed three years of pro by then

No way Flames are moving Brodie anytime soon. Their best defensman. If they did. You would have to move Myers in that deal plus Petan and Hutchinson.

You sir are correct. Andersen trade would not make sense. My mistake.
