I get we need a top pairing RH defenceman but that's a huge overpay isn't it?! Hall-Reinhart for Petro would suffice in my mind or maybe a Mathews-Reinhart+ for OEL?

Petro is a legitimate 1st pairing D. I think this is what it would take to get a D like that.

I personally don't get the fascination with OEL. I would like to see us get a right handed shot to diversify our power play to get some one timers off from both ends of the offensive zone

Petro is locked in at 6.5mil for 4 more years which is a fantastic bargain for St.Louis. Shattenkirk and Parayko only have 1 more so I think they are looking at Shattenkirk or Parayko to trade if they wanted to upgrade their offense. The too are both very talented but Parayko is 6ft 6in and only 22yrs old so I guessing it'll be Shattenkirk. Also, I agree with the other guys that its an over payment.

We know Hell has frozen over when the Oilers DON'T pick first. Yea I think it's an over payment to get Petro. It would be better to overpay in free agency than to give up Hall and a first.

Blues don't make that trade. Hall is great, but with Schwartz and Steen, LW is not a need for the Blues. Yakupov is a 3rd liner with value of roughly a mid 2nd round pick. Reinhart does nothing for the Blues as he would at a minimum be 4th on the Blues LHD depth chart. 2017 pick does not do much for the Blues when trading Pietrangelo as they will want immediate help in the return.

RNH+1OA or Draisaitl+2-3OA for Pietrangelo+Berglund
