What is Lucic’s value?

Created by: OilersNation
Team: 2018-19 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 10, 2018
Published: Jun. 10, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Obviously, Lucic has negative value, so much so as believe teams like Az and Carolina would ask for the 10th OVR and a prospect. All recent high salary, bad player trades are either a IR guy (Clarkson, Savard, Pronger, Bolland) or 1 for 1’s with guys like Phaneuf and Gaborik. I believe if the Oilers DID make a trade it would definitely be a 1 for 1, for another bad player (Eriksson or Ladd come to mind). But even considering this, the Lucic would have to waive a NMC for his contract. I certainly believe he’d waive it for Vancouver, as he is from B.C which leaves them as the only team really open.

Alright, might as well send Mcdavid for a complete allstar like Eriksson. The guy has similar numbers to Lucic, and is just as garbage, not to mention is injured but not injured enough. The only plus is that Eriksson is slightly better at the PK and has 1 less year.

Yes, I do believe that. Vancouver, is also stuck with Eriksson along other high paid flip flops, as well though.

Eriksson, based off his past two seasons in Vancouver, has more negative value than Lucic does. Both contracts are impossible to buyout, and the only saving grace to Eriksson's contract is it's a year shorter.

The extra year between Lucic/Eriksson is not worth a 2nd round pick. Considering the Canucks management's appreciation for heavy hockey, how piss-poor Eriksson has been since going to Vancouver, and that Lucic instantly becomes a fan-favourite in his hometown, you'd probably see a 3rd round pick go back to Edmonton instead of the Oilers sending a 2nd.
