22 years old, super low cap hit and had good and much improved AHL numbers last year. Solid signing, depth never hurts.

Neither, IMO. He was good in Syracuse and he's likely to be back there. There's always the potential for Yanni Gourde 2.0, but I don't think that's what the team is seeing. He's great depth, he provides a lot for Syracuse, and he has potential to be an eventual call-up. I've also seen some people speculating that he could be replacing Paquette, but I don't see that. I don't feel he's that kind of player.

that's certainly a possibility. i also think they're looking for that cheap depth guy who can provide scoring if he gets called up. It's a great signing, but i'm just curious if there's another motive
