This is a simpler trace scenario here. Carolina is headed towards win now mode and I don’t think that they will take 3 spare parts (one good future) for Skinner. They need to progress with the young core they have in place. I’m content with everything else you did here. But there is no way Scandella starts next year bottom pairing

Skinner is rumored to be on the market for a 1st and a prospect.

i put scandella on the 3rd pair to give each young guy a vet to play with. i think the playing time with be more equitable among most of the defense this year.

Good idea.
Thanks for making post.
Please Larsson is much better than Smith, O'Regan, Sheary (you will be shocked by his production away from Crosby), Malone or Wilson. To trade him away for a 4th is just giving him away. Centers who can win face offs are highly coveted in the NHL. He ranked 23rd among all NHL players who took at least 500 face offs. Look what the Sabres got for Paul Gaustad.
Not likely to get Skinner for that.
McCabe is so much better than Sheary. If you put Bailey with Crosby, Bailey would get more goals than Sheary.

Thank you for your reply.
OK, but look at how many PIT CF GM's give Sheary away or trade him for a 3rd or 4th. You do realize that Larsson played 80 games last year and only O'Reilly won more faceoffs than him? Apparently Housley does not share your point of view.

I'm not really concerned what Pittsburgh fans are saying. I have a guy in mccabe who is ok, but who doesn't have a spot in my lineup, I have a team that cant score and has no depth on the wing.

Larsson is dead weight. I'm not concerned at his decentness at faceoffs. We get no secondary scoring and malone is a feisty 4th liner who is hard to play against. With Eichel, OReilly and MIddelstadt on my team hes playing 8 minutes a night anyways

Thank you very much.
McCabe is better than Guhle, Nelson and Beaulieu but he does not have a spot in your line up.
OK you win. Sheary will score 50 points with Mittelstadt as his center and once traded McCabe will be sent to Hershey by Pittsburgh.

For starters, I disagree on that mcabe is better than guhle. Nelson is a RHD and beaulieu is untradeable.

i think mccabe is an OK defenseman and sheary is a 35-40 point winger playing 2nd and 3rd line minutes in buffalo. win-win for both teams.
