I believe tavares may stay in ny area for around 8 but the further away he gets or the bigger the bidding war he’s probably looking at 10 to start and depending on the cap situation I could see it going higher for Vancouver or sj or vegas I bet u would need closer to 12 than 7 but that’s just a guessing game at this point

It's hard to imagine Karlsson being given away. And Tavares has been a top 10 centre in the league for awhile now, it's time he's paid like one.

Out of anyone that is paid 7.5M or more, I only see Eichel, O'Reilly, Voracek (now, not later), Draisaitl, and Johansen that are not as good or better than Tavares, I think 7.5 in the NHL is pretty good money and he'll take that. Also, Karlsson is most likely looking to get as far away from Ottawa as possible, I think with a solid Dman in Braun plus Boedker and LaBanc giving them a few solid years, Ottawa would take the trade.

We won’t want to have two defenseman of Burns/Karlsson’s style on the same team. It’ll be one or the other. Just too much risk there on the blue line.
