No thank you we need our first Round Pick to select a D man but you could take Loui for a 3rd Round.

No way. We don't need to lose cap, and we need a top 2 defenseman so...

Vancouver is not a team in need of cap relief, they're not a team in need of financial relief either.

no benefit at all here for them

At first I didn't like the deal as a Vancouver fan because the First round pick is so valuable to the rebuild. I think only way you make this move is if you are able to get the 10th from Edmonton with Lucic for Athensiou or another roster player not part of the core moving forward. If you are able to do that, I think Lucic would provide more to a young canucks team then Erikkson can, plus pick up an early second to move down 3 picks would be something Canucks could be interest in. However Edmonton deal would have to be agreed upon prior to signing off on Detroit deal.

By this do you mean give Van a 3rd for Loui or Van gives the 3rd? Detroit would do neither but just curious

Interesting idea but I also believe Detroit would prefer to have Lucic to Eriksson so unless they really want someone specific at 7, I doubt they would do the trade with Van after trading with Edm. Why doesn’t Vancouver go after Lucic straight from the oilers? Eriksson isn’t somebody I want, just thought cap dump added value but the other nucks fans pointed out they don’t need to do that so I now realize this is unlikely
