I’m less attached to Reinhart than Risto and am bored of ROR trades

As much as I hate the idea of trading Reinhart, this is not bad.

    Not interesting.

Weal one year from UFA, MacDonald two years from UFA, they will not help us in the future, Botterill will not do this, he would rather trade ROR for the future team to build on for many years. Lindblom let's say interesting but I won't trade Reinhart for Lindblom and 1st OA 19.

I have been chastised for not having enough experience on the defense, 2 years of McDonald is enough. Weal is interesting to see if he can give more, He has one year to prove he’s worth bringing back. If not he can walk to. McDonald, Lindblom, and 19OA is about right for Reinharts value

I don’t mind this trade. Two good young assets and a couple vet guys to help fill out the roster.

With JVR, I don’t see him signing much less than Kane’s 7x7. I’d prefer to avoid the big UFAs this offseason personally as we aren’t really ina position to be going all out. Maybe Perron/Nash/Vanek.

Perron probably tries to milk his stats for a ridiculous contract, Nash might want to much term too, Vanek is worst case scenario signing for me but I wouldn’t be opposed

Still not interested, either leave little Samson or ask for a lot of him.

I could see Perron getting inflated deal, that’s why I try to avoid him on mine. Nash is 33 and coming off a concussion and down year production wise. I don’t see him commanding much more than a 2-3 year deal, which buffalo could totally deal with

I know, but first of all, there is no guarantee that they will sign up, and second, I'm not very interested in these players.

MacDonald would gladly accept an extension at his current cap hit. Weal would too.

Still no interest in them, I think we could find a more interesting offer for Reinhart, in the same Minnesota, which is very much in need of RW.

I like Weal. Their are a couple of guys, Lazars another one, that are low risk - high reward players.

Yeah that feels like trading Reinhart for nothing. (Not for no value but for the sake of trading Reinhart i mean)

I get the idea you are going for but you can resolve those issues in A) Free agency or B) with a less impactful player like Reinhart.

If you really want Macdonald, Im sure Philly will give you him and Weal for free just for a 7th rounder in return. AMac is ridiculously overpaid for what he brings. Weal is a bottom 6 winger. You're not breaking the bank here.

those 2 are throw ins I’m going after the pick and prospect. I don’t want the Sabres to go after FAs, theyre just setting themselves up for disaster. Reinhart is the least impactful of the 3 players rumored about

For throw ins, you're taking on alot...... and getting back Lindblom and a 1st for Reinhart may be selling him short. Guy is still young and getting better. He's a 50 pt guy now, what's to say he isn't a 60-70 pt guy in the future? Lindblom has done nothing yet although its still early and the 1st may end up being another Girgensons. Then....you essentially traded a 50+ Reinhart for.....Lindblom.

That's why I'm saying this trade is for nothing. You aren't addressing any real needs on the team. Your just swinging for the fences hoping for a home run.

Just because those 3 guys are in rumours doesn't mean you have to trade them.

I get the point but this draft is way higher regarded than 2012 which seems to be pretty weak all around.

ahhhhh yada yada yada. Every year its the same thing. "this years draft is going to be a high end draft". Its the same non sense. Last year might have been the one year where people actually said it was a weak draft and they still had some gems come through.

You can't justify the 19th pick being more valuable than the player drafted @2 a couple years back. I think Reinhart is progressing just fine. Its Buffalo that is sucking. Reinhart on a playoff team is a regular 50-60 point guy. I wouldn't give that up so lightly. He's only what 22?
