Description
Because i've seen SO much ridiculous stuff lately. This is assuming Carlson re-signs at a reasonable number. I'll do one with the scenario of him not re-signing.

Let's trade DSP's rights while they're still worth something.

Keeping Orpik on the roster for now. What folks need to keep in mind is next year. Burakovsky, Vrana, Djoos and Stephenson will all need to be paid. So either keeping Orpik and riding out his last year of a cap hit. Or trading him and only replacing with One-year deal signings is critical. Honestly, I would love to see Vrana given an extension this offseason for a longer term before he blows up and his salary demands skyrocket.

Finally someone with a brain. I would argue that Orpik is bought out also. Then there would be room to sign a depth defensman such as Ian Cole. But yes, DSP should be traded, now that he's worth a pick or two. Someone will likely overpay him because of.the playoffs.

Thanks! Read my description for why Orpik shouldn't be bought out. We REALLY need to keep the 2019-2020 offseason in mind as some big contracts will need to be handed out to our young guys so we'll need all the space we can get. Wouldn't mind trading Orpik to a Buffalo if we can squeeze a late pick out of them, but only if we replace his $5.5mm on the roster this year with UFA 1 year deals.

Yea I read it, but I think Bura will be traded, they can't keep all of them and Vrana has more potential.

DSP is worth more than a 3rd rounder straight to AHL pick.

imo buffalo fans have said they would take orpik and grub for a 3rd and a prospect i would gladly do that......reason being if orpik is on the roster trots will play him and bowey will never get to develop

i would trade bc i think the chances of him repeating what he did this year is slim....again thats imo

in a perfect world...

samsonov will replace holtby and be better

bowey will turn out to be a 2 way stud and be able to replace nisk and free up that cap space

ovi and backstroke take discounts to end their career

3 years

This is one of the most reasonable rosters I've seen. My only issue is that 4th - might be good for 8-9 minutes per game under Trotz.

I definitely agree regarding Orpik. Buying him out doesn't help, but trading him and replacing him with an UFA could work.
