Nylander gone. Simmer in.

Created by: Quakzey
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 16, 2018
Published: Jun. 16, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Adding some grit for the playoffs. Nylander seems to shy away when the going gets tough. Zaitsev is kind of soft as well (plus his contract).

Hamilton is too valuable for the Flames. I could see this happening if it was Brodie instead (he can play the right side, and probably does better on that side, which is what Toronto needs).

Interesting. Hamilton with that extra year though, also a righty and hometown boy. Very intriguing to say the least.

Lmao what? Gudas plays perfectly fine when he isn’t saddled with Brandon Manning.

Yep. Brown, a bottom 6F. Zaitsev a kid pairing D man (Flyers don’t need that) and a 2nd doesn’t get you Simmer alone and we have to throw in Gudas?

Big doesn't mean better. All this complaining about Nylander, at least his team made the playoffs. The problem is at centre. You're really depending on a NHL. centre to now get big minutes on # 3 C...and in case of injury move up. Nylander is too valuable right now. and he moves to centre.
Gudas isn't that loved by Flyers fans, he likely isn't an improvement over what the Leafs have. And Simmons is slowing too, I don't think the Leafs would be that interested in a long term extension.

Did you watch the playoffs? I'm a Pens fan, eveytime he was on the ice, he turns the puck over and Pens score a goal

Did you read my comment? He was saddled with Manning. When Gudas and Sanheim played together he was just fine.

yeah, I guess can't break out of the zone and frequent turnovers are Manning's fault, he became a different player post suspension

If you watched the regular season, you would know that the playoffs was not what Gudas was like the prior 82 games. Every partner he was paired with, they basically increased their underlying metrics.

If you want to use a 6 game sample size to justify the last 82 games, that's your method of evaluation. I don't find that method effective.
