No. Galchenyuk is easily the better player.

Domi might be able to roughly replace the production of Galch in MTL. He likely won't be able to compete with Galch in ARI if he's finally allowed to play Centre.

We will see in year or two if it is good trade. Chucky welcomes this trade with open arms. Would get pressure out of his shoulder, would play with more skilled guys and will get opportunity at C as Chayka said. Domi on the other hand could even benefit for changing scenery. He is great guy and his lack of production.. I mean guys.. he played for Arizona. He would be good for Habs, would be better goalscorer but still.. Chucky is level above him and right now as it is, I see that as a giant win for Arizona. But we will see.

I would rather have Galchenyuk on my team but they are both 2nd and 3rd line players. It's not so lopsided that Montreal is trading a 1st line center for a 3rd line wing; that's what some people thought Galchenyuk could be, a first line center.

ARZ fleeced MTL, galchenyuk is a much better, established player, only way MTL could win or be even in this trade is if Domi lives up to his potential...

I think Bergevin is clearly a bad bargain, although the look in 1-2 years.

Both have .61 PPG for their career. Chuky better goal scorer, Domi better playmaker. Habs don’t like Chuky at center and his sporadic play. All depends on Domi contract. Sounds like a 2 year bridge rather than long term. If that’s they case than it’s questionable and they should have shopped around. 2 years of Chuky for 5 or 6 of Domi at a team friendly contract....then it’s not bad.

I’m just surprised Montreal couldn’t do any better than Domi....unless they see something they really like in him. Today it looks like a bad trade for MTL but time will tell

Boom thanks I don't I have to say. I would prefer 5 or 6 year contract for Domi, but even if they bridge him he is an RFA for 4 more years vs. Galchenyuk who is a UFA in 2 years.

Galchenyuk is probably the better player, but if the habs play their cards right Domi will have the better contract. Draft Wahlstrom or Zadina and get Domi a sniper, or even Tkatchuk and you could have an agitating 2nd line of Domi-Tkatchuk-Gallagher.
