You are utterly naive if you think GMJR is not listening to offers.

Phil is as close to untradeable as a player can get. You aren't going to get full value on a guy who hit 90+ points last year due to how much of that success came from a powerplay boasting Crosby and Malkin. He didn't prove he could carry a team in Toronto, and has seen success in Pittsburgh, which could also largely be seen as playing against teams' 3rd pairing defensemen. Pittsburgh should be glad to have him at $6.8M, he should be glad to be on Pittsburgh having the next 3-5 seasons with legitimate chances at winning the cup, and we as fans should understand that we won back to back cups pretty much entirely because Phil Kessel was on this team.

Quit thinking like a fan and think of it like a business. Kessel won’t reach 90+ points again. This season was a statistical anamoly. If anything, if they don’t trade him this season, it will definitely be next season if Sprong shows what he’s capable of. Kessel is also a defensive liability. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t want two lines (Sprong and Kessel) being defensive albatrosses. I’d prefer to trade Kessel now for a stud defenseman or a decent amount of roster players and high picks. Yes Kessel is good. But I’d rather sell high.

you are utterly naive if you think GMJR can find anyone close to phil's talent level for his cap hit price in the trade market.

I want nothing to do with Kessel in MN with these type of trade prices. He's not going to be a 90p player here, even 70p would be hard for him to reach. I'll take Dumba for under $5m/yr easily over Kessel.

And if you think he's going to trade a 92 point player because he had an argument with Sully, maybe you're the naïve one. I'll bet anything you want Phil isn't traded. Name it.
