I would look into trading your first round pick in a deal for Hamilton.

I’m going to 5 Star this because so many hawks fans make dumb armchairs... but this one is good. Well done. You could probably get more than Manson for pick 8. You dumped a good amount to get rid of Hossa. Well done my guy.

Wow a Detroit fan who thinks Hawks fans overrate their players....no way I don't believe it! lol

Hawks don't need to pay to get rid of Hossa. His contract is valuable to any team needing to be mindful of the cap floor. At a cost of $1m for a $5.2M cap relief...it's a good thing to say AZ or Car who are rebuilding. Regardless, Hawks can just LITR him as you can be over that amount on the books day 1 of the season.

I don't believe there is a team that needs the Hossa contract to reach the cap floor so I don't see any way the Hawks can trade that contract w/o giving the team an incentive. Also, in order to LTIR the contract and take full advantage of it, they have to be near the Max on the first day. I don't see how they can sign the UFA I've listed and bury 5 mil in contracts to the AHL on the first day.

Yes, maybe the 2019 2nd round pick is not needed. But, Pageau, is the the type of 3rd line center the Hawks sorely need.
In regards to Manson, I know it's an overpay, but this is exactly what they need. Size and snarl on the back end that can actually clearly the crease. But, Q will probably make him a stick poking soft Dmen when hes done with him.

Have you seen the value Hawks fans have been giving in order to acquire, for instance... Faulk, Skinner, pick #2, Teuvo, and/or Darling? This dude literally sent like Hossa and Saad ? a lot of other ones were just as under valued. So yes, I have every right to think that. I don’t even agree with the way a lot of Detroit fans think on this site. I think the guy who posted this arm chair? One of the few guys who has an idea of what to do. It’s not a Blackhawks fan thing, it’s like 80% of this site man ?

I think you have a good idea of what to do man. I like this. Manson is much more underrated than I think anyone knows. He would surprise a lot of people if they paid attention to him

That's the point. People don't understand how LITR works today. This isn't the same way it worked 5 years ago. Blackhawks don't have to pay someone much to dump Hossa's contract when he is already approved to LITR day one of the season and the net cap hit will be around $150K plus his salary is only $1M, so literally the cost to the Hawks is $1.15M and the cap hit is $150K. Hawks being one of the top 5 richest NHL teams aren't concerned around a $1.15M cost. Now, for a team looking to reach the cap floor (Ariz, Car) Hossa's contract is quite attractive.

"I want Manson so bad on the Hawks I'm willing to just gift an 8th overall pick to the Ducks"

Lol....... The top 10-12 players in this draft have elite/superstar potential.... Dahlin is a generational talent.....

Geez...... I'm sure the Hawks could get Manson for 27th overall, but I wouldn't give up that pick for Manson - this draft is too good..

The signings are fine but the trades are terrible..... I'll give you 2 stars for the signings.
