All that for an aging and slow Corey Perry, on an $8 million + AAV deal with term left, are you crazy? Well, there is no way Anaheim would say no to that offer, but there is no way NYR are taking on that contract, especially since they are 100% in a rebuild, short or not, they will need to go through the motions. Acquiring a veteran likes this makes absolutely zero sense.

The motions of a rebuild or the motions of the ocean? My motions refer to trading off assets for future type packages, drafting and so forth and committing to at least a few years of bad hockey, you know. Those motions smile

I also get this feeling that the Rangers won't go through a full re-build. Maybe they should, but you just always get this sense that they can't wait to throw some money around at a big name.

If you want Corey Perry...it'll cost you a lot less than you're offering.

On the other hand, Neal and JVR likely get between $6-7m per

Just my 2 cents.
