Sorry, not giving up Schmaltz. Patches is a 1 year rental, he's a UFA after that. If he was a RFA that would be different. AA is a 2nd round pick, Patches and a 4th for Saad and a 6th since Saad is locked into a 6 year with no trade clauses is more then fair.

I don't get the Saad & Anisimov for Patches + picks deal at all..

I wouldn't trade Saad at all unless it landed the Hawks a top 13 pick...... And I think Bowman could land a late first round pick or (2) second round picks for Anisimov...

The other trades are good I suppose....... Carolina has no interest in more defenseman tho..... But I think 27th overall, Anisimov & Hossa get that deal done..

I like Faulk but the ask for him is just too much..

I would really like to see Stan acquire more draft picks TBH because this draft is that deep.... If the Hawks could land another first round pick and a couple of second round picks they would be set for the future...

What happened with Anisimov NMC?!?
Other than filling jerseys with big players' contracts, I don't see the club improving a lot in return of a 35-40 goal scorer.
Pacioretty may be a 1 year rental...but he is the BEST 1 year rental option...

The Carolina one has to include Forsberg...he's the backup goalie for Carolina. Oesterle can be included especially if Carolina trades De Haan also.

The MTL trade is as such....
Saad and a 5th for Patches and a 4th.
Anisimov for an early 2nd rounder.

AA is not getting two 2nd round picks.

Hawks need to win now before the Kane, Keith, Toews, Seabs, Crawford core get too old..they have a couple years left. Then the big transition need to take place to the new core of Schmaltz, Jokiharju, Debrincat, and like Walhstrom.

AA has a modified NTC that is lifted July 1.

AA is a 20+ goal scorer with 3 years left.
Saad is a 50+ point player with 6 years left and only 25 years old and a 2 way player that Patches is not.

AA has a full NMC that turns into a modified NTC on July 1st (he'll give a list of 10 teams he'd be willing to be traded to). The NTC doesn't go away until July 1st 2019.

Saad has only 3 seasons left on his current contract.

Because it only costs $1M in salary and they can LITR Hossa... and they can dump Darling's contract which based on performance should only be a $1.5M deal.

I'd rather stick with 8th overall and take Wahlstrom then take a defenseman with #27 and keep on drafting defenseman in the first round for the next couple of years.

Apparently the Hawks are trying to get the UFA rights to JVR (according to Eklund so you can take that with a grain of salt) for a conditional pick..... I also heard via multiple sources Panarin has no interest in signing a contract extension with the Blue Jackets so he is a possibility as well.... I always figured Bowman's plan was to resign Panarin in the summer of 2019 but maybe the Hawks may get him back this summer..... It would be hilarious if Bowman traded Anisimov & 27th + overall for Panarin tho to keep the most bizarre "trade chain" in NHL history alive...
