Why have a solely offensive dman on your 3rd pair when you have Letang and Schultz?

Why would you get Coyle and resign Rust then put Rust on the 4th? He had more points than Coyle last year and is a RH shot like him too... and no thanks to a 5 mil liability on the 3rd D pairing.

Because Coyle is better he had 21 goals and 18 goals the prior two years and can play center, he only played 66 games last year and had bit of a down year. You can't have two good players on your roster? Mike Green has solid advanced metrics, good at zone exits and entries. One-year 5 million to take a shot at a cup why not? we want to play top-pair less.

Maybe. Greenway is a top prospect and Coyle is a solid two-way player. Also frees up a great deal of cap space to add other players that you could not add under current situation.
