the apparent reason columbus is trading him, is because he isn't interesting in extending now. certainly the oilers don't have a that influence either.

1.) So Panarin would expire after one year of him playing for the Oilers and then the Oilers wouldn't be able to afford to sign him. This means you are moving a very very good long-term Klefbom contract, a cheap entry-level Yamamoto contract, and a promising prospect in Caleb Jones for 1 year of Panarin. Columbus has Bobrovsky and Korpisalo so they won't take Montoya. The Oilers pick is way more valuable than CBJ's because this is a top heavy draft. I don't see the Oilers swapping it in any trade.
2.) Vancouver wouldn't include that high of a pick in this trade and the Oilers absolutely do not want Louie Erickson. Lucic has said he doesn't want to go to Vancouver for personal reasons, he has the NTC so he would only waive it for a team he wants to go to.

if he signs the extension prior to a trade youd have to consider it, if not then no way would I move klefbom.

True. We'd have to talk to the player beforehand to see whether he'd play here of course. This is assuming he does, because we don't have access to the player and it's all fantasy anyways.

Good feedback. What do you think an unsigned Panarin is worth?

(this mock is based on him being signed).
