I like the though of the Marner trade, but I feel Marner is too small for that top line - that line is already tiny with Johnny Hockey; they need a bigger winger. Also, asking for a 1st Rd Pick along with Dougie/Bennet is a bit much. Maybe a 2nd or 3rd.

Marner is the best player BY FAR in that trade, Bennet is a bust and Hamilton is over rated. When Calgary calls for a trade like that, Dubas would answer and say, "If you say Nylander for Hamilton, I'm hanging up." Then Treveling says "What about Marner......hello?"

You Flame fans are out to lunch. Your team wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. Why would Toronto want pieces that aren't working in Calgary in exchange for the top pieces in Toronto. A team that had the 4th most goals and allowed the 12th least amount of goals. Lets get back to reality here.

FYI Calgary fans, you are going to be very disappointed if Hamilton is traded because all you'll get is an okay prospect and a 1st rounder, or maybe just a 1st and a 3rd or something. GM's don't want to overpay and get fleeced. And before you use the Hominic trade as ammo, thats a perfect example of what not to do. Don't overpay in a trade, equal value needs to go both ways. Hamilton is worth a 1st yes, and maybe another piece. Marner is a franchise player on most teams. He's the second best player in TO and would be the best player in Calgary, (He is as good offensively as Gudreau and far better defensively and plays tougher, isn't afraid to throw a hit). Toronto hung up the phone the moment you mentioned Marner.
