Four-Way Trade

Created by: SankFeravalli
Team: 2018-19 Columbus Blue Jackets
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 20, 2018
Published: Jun. 20, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Panarin from CBJ to CAL - Panarin won’t sign, Flames need complementary scoring to Gudreau and Monahan
Hamilton from CAL to EDM - Flames are strong on defense, Oilers want a top-pair RD
Nugent-Hopkins from EDM to CAR - Oilers are deep at center, Canes need a top-6 scoring center
Skinner from CAR to CBJ - Jackets get back a goal-scoring winger

There’s some tweaking that would need to be done (a bit more given up by Edmonton and Carolina), but what do you think about the basic framework?

This certainly makes sense and it's a simple trade to follow. Nice work

So you essentially traded Artemi Panarin for Jeff Skinner...

Columbus is pretty happy with the way their team is constructed, so they will want a high-end scoring forward in return for Panarin. Columbus is able to stay on the path of building the roster they want, while each other team addresses a position of need. Plus, Columbus will get something extra back (see description).

EDM would basically have to add a 1st, maybe 2019 1st. That would help the value for Panarin but I still don't think Skinner and a 1st is enough.

I'll reiterate.

You're trading a PPG player with 1 year left for a player who just scored less than 50 points in 82 games with 1 year left on his contract too...

Skinner Jenny a high end scorer, Panarin is.

I'm sorry man but this is just not good.

I'm just trying to understand how you even begin to think about trading Panarin for just Jeff Skinner. Two guys in two different levels
