Would be fun to see the Folignos together! Though, I think someone with a large contract has to go. Bobrovsky, Korpisalo and Werenski are all due after 2018-19

I like this! Only thing is I think the Wild would be more interested in Josh Anderson than Jonathon Davidsson, the last thing we need is more left handed forwards. What would it take to swap those two? Would the Wild's 3rd round pick be fair or would we have to add a little more?

Edit: Just realized Davidsson is right handed (thought he was a lefty for some reason), but I still think we're more interested in impact players versus prospects and I'm curious what it would take to get Anderson over Davidsson in this scenario

It gives CBJ about $17 mil in space the following season. You can buy out Dubi and clear up which opens up $3.9 mil. That $20.9 mil which should be plenty to sign Werenski and Bob or Korpi. I don't see us keeping both goalies.

CBJ would have a hard time including Anderson. A big player with speed and good shot don't come around often. I would think they would ask for a first.

Fair enough, I think the wild would be at least looking for a 2nd round pick coming back if they're trading their first (our next pick after the 24th is the 63rd in the 3rd round). What would you say about

Columbus Blue Jackets
Jason Zucker Rights
Nino Niederreiter
Marcus Foligno
24 OA (MIN 1st)
63 OA (BUF 3rd)

Minnesota Wild
Artemi Panarin (signs 8x8 extension)
Sonny Milano
Josh Anderson
49 OA (CBJ 2nd)

Panarin will not sign an extension till end of next season. Plus, he is chasing the money. He will be looking at 9 mil+

I just used this tweet form our beat writer to make the contract

https://twitter.com/RussoHockey/status/1009140020320579586

And in that case I think the Blue Jackets will be getting considerably less return (he's essentially just an expensive rental) unless teams know they can re-sign him. Other teams would be better off just waiting until next year when he's UFA than giving up assets now.

Panarin hasn’t closed the door on signing in Columbus he just wants to play into next summer to get the highest deal possible. Any deal would likely involve a high end roster player a prospect and a conditional pick in case he signs. But that is the price.
