Nice trade... maybe one first too much but that’s fine. Now, backup goalie- also move Rantanen to the first like with McKinnon and stone on the second line and Jost to the third line.... now you’re set.

RE-sign bernier, i thought he played ok last year, with this new improved line up he should do better. Back up goalies wont cost much more than 2/2.5m per year. + cap should go up more in 2019/2020.

Ottawa would jump at that. Ottawa really only EK for one year and maybe Stone for two. Really a massive overpayment by Colorado.

check the long term outlook, Stone is a sign and trade 8 year at 7.75m and Karlsson would re-sign with COL with this roster and fellow swede Landescog.

There are so few sign and trades, I don't know why folks keep on mentioning them. Though I might understand Stone getting one. There are lots of Swedes in the league on every team, hardly a reason for Karlsson to resign with Avs.

Avs win the Cup with this trade. And still so much cap space to address the third D pairing. Also, they won't need to go that high on JVR.

I don't know why people think sign trades are so rare. Turris and Burrows in the last year. Those trades don't happen unless they were guaranteed to be signed by their respective teams. Stone is an RFA, it's not important for him.

But on the trade, Makar better be coming the other way if the Avs are getting EK and Stone

JVR gets maybe 6M... he is pretty piss poor defensively. And his goals only come tip ins or garbage rebounds
