Description
Open to discussions on all the trade proposals. More interested in a dialogue to balance the trades if needed than discussing likelihood...it's all for fun and we know most of these trades won't ever come to fruition.

Tavares:
I'd say NYI and SJS are out front on JT but I'll still hold out hope until it's official

Vermette:
Not sure if Vermette will sign somewhere as a UFA...he couldn't crack the Anaheim lineup for the most part..but if not, I could see the Leafs offering him a PTO and see how he stacks up against Par Lindholm and others as a 4C. He's got a terrific percentage in the faceoff dot (60% like ROR but with half the # of draws) which is an area the leafs could improve in with Bozak gone.

STL:
I'd prefer Parayko as a younger, cheaper RHD, but seems that STL might be more willing to let Pietrangelo go. I've loved Alex since he was drafted and I think his leadership on the backend would pay huge dividends. Can't imagine they'd consider a trade without a major asset going the other way. AP's $6.5m is likely around where Nylander signs for...plus his deal expires when Marleau's number comes off the books so it provides a bit of flexibility. I'm guessting this is the trade that will require the most 'balancing' to figure out a fair price.

WPG:
This trade has been discussed at length on various other threads. Something in this vicinity helps out both squads

DET:
Read somewhere that Holland likes Martin...if so he's yours for whatever you're willing to give up. If not, hopefully it's not too hard to find a taker for him

DAL:
I actually like Zaitsev and think he was the victim of being grossly over-worked at the beginning of the season. Dallas looks like they could use some depth on the RH side and Leafs get a bottom 6 winger in exchange

Leivo:
Gotta imagine that if he's not in the plans to be an every day starter that Dubas will find a home for him. Kid looks like he can play so I'd be fine if he cracks the opening day lineup.

I know it's all pie-in-the-sky fantasy but hopefully the valuations aren't far off and I think the roster has depth and balance at forward and d

It would take more then Willie and a 2nd to get a legit #1 RHD in Pietrangelo.

As the Jets are in win now mode before having to sign Connor and Laine to big deals I think Myers is staying in the peg unless the offer is too good to refuse or addresses a need.

Don't give up on Zaitsev just yet, he was the Leafs best Dman the first few weeks of the season before the injury and illness bugs got him. Don't get me wrong, he isn't as good as Rielly but he is a lot better then the season he had.

I like the thoughts on Vermette, If Tavares did sign in T.O. the 4th line becomes a situational line that would only get 8-10 minutes a game, maybe less.

Thanks for the comments.

The Pietrangelo trade was based off a earlier discussion with St. Louis fans...I’m sure the leafs would need to add but AP for WN were the basics

Similar with Myers. Of course in reality, it would depend on what cap space they want to allocate to which players...but with Buff and Trouba on RD along with Poolman looking capable of 3rd pairing minutes + Myers being on his final year, most Winnipeg fans thought a 1st alone would get it done.

Totally agree with you on Zaitsev. Moving him here was more to save on cap and considering bringing in two RHD men that would slot above him. But if the Leafs smarten up and stop playing him and Hainsey for all 2min of every PK then maybe he might get thru a season healthy.

I could also see a guy like Matt Stajan get a PTO. I think It’d be a smart play until you get a better grasp of what the guys in the system already look like at training camp
