His contract is comparable to Markstrom and Jone's old deal, so yeah, it's a good deal.

If he can beat out Varlamov (seems likely to me) this becomes a steal of a deal while Varlamov becomes a huge albatross of a contract that the Avs only have to deal with for a season.

Great deal for the avs, i thought he would've wanted between 4-5 million though. Great deal for both though.

Incredible that he signed the same exact deal as his countryman Greiss even though Grubi has proven himself to be much better.

this seems the go-to contract for former backups in a new role - Talbot got 3 years at 4,167, but he was more proven. Greiss got less (justified), Markström and Jones similar ones. just Darling is the one-off who got overpaid after being a backup.

Greiss got the exact same contract. 3.33m AAV over 3 yrs. Did you not see my earlier post? If anything, Grubauer's contract is cheaper given that it makes up a lesser percentage of COL's overall cap space.
