not gonna happen but makes sense

Created by: Canes5326
Team: 2018-19 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 26, 2018
Published: Jun. 26, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa clears cap space by trading away Callahan allowing them to get Tavares should he decide to sign, who CAR takes in order to get Johnson and McDonagh. Tampa can chose to keep Skinner or flip him considering how much talent they have up front. Keep Faulk to play right side on 2nd D pair. Gets a good RHD prospect. Benn and Callahan help out with the apparent goal of having more team toughness and provide veteran leadership. Try to get McDonagh to sign extension before trade.

Lightning fan - I could see agreement in this, but would look for a 2nd instead of the 3rd. Also would have to be after agreed Tavares contract.

absolutely agree, I think taking on the Callahan contract makes it a third but a second could be done.

Habs would love that deal if it was offered.

Pretty well done. Not a huge fan of the Habs trade but a usable D man and what should be an early to mid 2nd rounder isn’t horrible return. But if he is just going to healthy scratch modt nights i’d ask for Lindgren instead and move Darling for whatever you can.

I think that could work to. If it would Lindgren however I think the Habs make the 2nd rounder and 3rd instead. Benn is nothing more than a bottom pairing guy but Lindgren has potential to be a starter. Not a star goalie but a starter.
