No cap problem? You have to sign Matthews AND marner to big boy contracts. Matthews is getting at least 8 mil and marner is getting at least 6 mil. And nylander is getting well over 4 and a half mil.

You are not getting a young Dumba with Gardiner (MIN won't trade him unless its an overpay)
And you paid Nylander 4.5 million?? LMAO

If you look at my long term, next year 24M+5.3M(Horton)=30M left to sign 10 players, signing both at 14M, still have 16M left to fill 8 players which as you can see can be filled with no problem.

If they want to take Ennis' contract, I think they would trade Dumba. (Or trade Nylander for him)

After last year's playoff performance, I doubt Leafs wants to hand out massive long term contract for Nylander. (Outplayed by Kapanen, Johnsson, Brown...just about everyone on the team)
I think if he commands more than $5M per year for 2-3 years, they would trade him.

So if you have $16 mil for 8 players, roughly each player would get 2 mil. Not gonna happen. Sorry.

Trading for Dumba needs pieces like Nylander
and Nylander is a young consistent 60 pts player, Matthews didn't show up against Boston either, it was a bad matchup (Boston played too physical), he will ask for at least 6 million

The Leafs would have a Performance Bonus carryover of 4m into 2019/20 reducing the amount of spend in 2019/20 when the some big money signings are likely. So signing Tavares does create cap problems if not this year but starting next year.
