Benn for a former 4th round prospect is Fair and MTL's AHL team needs guys like Subban to put ass's in seats .

You're missing a lot of pieces coming back to Buffalo, Sabres literally just down grade at center here to appease MTL, why would they even entertain this

So you want the Sabres to trade a 60+ point two-way center, who is under contract for five years, for a 40 point center who is under control for 3 years and a cap dump?

Jordan Subban is an UFA, LA didn't qualify him so there's no need to trade for him.

notice how none of the actual NHL trade resemble what people do on here?
    most people dont get it.

Bjugstad is cheaper , bigger and 11 points shy of Oreilly which makes sense given unlike Oreilly he's stuck behind to world class centers in Barkov and Trochek .
this trade makes sense for all and the only thing i should maybe do is swap out Shaw for a Lehkonen , Hudon or Scherbak but ultimately Shaw's worth more to anyone with hockey IQ they see his possession metic's and leadership skills along with being one of the best secondary faceoff guys in the league (he's top 10 both years in montreal for faceoffs taken by wingers )

but Bjugstad makes sense in BUF, Patches makes sense in FLA and Oreilly despite his buyout proof **** contract built like Nathan Hortons so even if he gets injured and retires we're stuck with the cap (unlikely but still a shitty contract to take on given todays NHL is becoming younger by the year . each deal is a gamble but all teams walk away with what they need

Oh yeah so Bjugstad can go to Buffalo and get stuck behind Eichel and Mittelstadt. Sabres are only moving ROR for positions of need. Tell me where the Sabres are worried about money - tons of cap space, Eichel and Reinhart getting their long term contracts, their best prospects all at the beginning of their ELC's, and the 6th richest owner in the league. The Sabres will just keep ROR if they dont get what they want. The trade is nonsensical and your explanation is worse.
