You could get a lot more for Staal..... and I think the Wild would be VERY smart to deal him this offseason.

I'd try looking at other people's posts for Armchair-GM of the Wild and ones that just involve the Wild to get a better idea of how to approximate trade value.

Nakita Zaitsev is terrible. He's not even worth a 7th round pick

That is just not true, granted he's look bad when coming back from injuries but other than that he's a decent top 4 RHD. Last year Zaitsev started off super well and everyone was happy with his contract, then he got hurt, came back and struggled a bit and then got really sick and lost 20 lbs of muscle. That is significant! Then it took him a while to get back into game shape. If the Leafs had more depth at RHD he may not have come back until the playoffs. (He wasn't that bad in the playoffs, a lot of the times he was scored on was directly the fault of Gardiner.)

Should the Leafs trade him? Possibly but it'll be dependent on how their other RHD perform this season. I can see the Leafs moving him just to save cap space next year. But that trade wouldn't happen till the off season cause he's far better than anything else they can get at RHD without also having to give up assets.
