I have seen a plethora of ROR deals to St. Louis and IMO if the Sabres want Parayko it will take ROR+.... therefore throwing Nylander in the deal would be advantage St. Louis..... then what would St. Louis have to add in order to get to equal value..... Ultimately your deal is too rich for St. Louis to make.... The Blues are giving up too much in your deal so I do not see that deal happening....

The questions I would have are as follows:

1. Do the Sabres really need Parayko as part of the return..... they have made such a huge investment on the defensive side with Dahlin, Pilut, Hickey (if they sign him), Hunwick, Samuelson, do they need to a Dman in the deal;

2. The Sabres should be looking at the forwards from St. Louis and Thomas is the target;

3. I also like Tage Thompson's game and his size;

From what I've read STL won't be parting with Thomas, so it would have to be some combination of Kostin and a first round pick. Either way I'd be happy with that return.

If I were Sabres Gm Jason Botterill, I would do this; I wouldn't let Armstrong off the phone until the deal went through. I don't think STL gives up both Thomas and Kyrou, though.

I thought the same when I was typing it that Armstrong would not want to give up both..... but that is when I decided the add Nylander and McCabe..... McCabe gives them a replacement for Gunnerson and Nylander who knows..... I would have the Sabres make the deal after July 1st so the Sabres pick up the $7,500,000 signing bonus (basically ROR is free for year 1 to the Blues).

The Blues get the center they have needed..... a solid young Dman on RFA contract..... a prospect that was a former first round pick all for $2,500,000 this year...... they do not have to deal any of their current rostered players..... Oh yeah to sweeten it the Sabres can take on a cap dump as well.
