Adding O'Reilly and Maroon

Created by: BAC
Team: 2018-19 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2018
Published: Jun. 29, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Brodziak is destined to go elsewhere, there are limited options available for 4th C. So, I'm proposing using Fabbri in limited minutes as an extra scoring line. Both Fabbri and Kostin can spell Thomas and Kyrou on the 2nd and 3rd lines when needed, with Barbashev as the extra utility forward who can play anywhere.
Don't envy Doug Armstrong. There's a lot riding on his ability to land a top 6 center. If RoR doesn't work out, I wouldn't bother overpaying for lesser pieces--I'd do a hard reset on this roster and deal Steen, JBo, Gunnarsson, Petro (yes, you heard that right) and Allen for as many quality futures as I could get.

I wouldn't do it just to do it. We may still be able to compete. But if we can't get it together--and I think we'll know that in the next couple weeks--then let's stop wasting time and hit the reset button.

Five stars for wanting O'Reilly

Berglund no! Sobotka maybe? Thompson, T. yes! Blais, S. no? This is very close to the value of O'Reilly.

Take out Berglund and Blais and insert Fabbri and Sobotka and you have a deal.

Fabbri is a huge risk for any team to take in a trade as a stand-alone player given that he hasn't played in over a year and a half, but I would still take that risk. Sobotka though would be a major boost to the bottom six, and he has an edge to his game.
